In fact, most errors that arise during the analysis process are due to improper preparation of the data rather than the SGP functions themselves. Once the data is ready, it should be loaded into the SGP software and the appropriate analyses should be run. Once the results are available, they can be compared to previous years and to national benchmarks. The comparisons can be very illuminating, and can reveal a great deal about the state of education in general as well as specific schools.
